D' Lux

Good morning!

So, today I embark on a moving excursion to a brand new apartment, downtown. I have been excited about this move for quite some time. Imagine my surprise when I walk in and see this....
Yes, that is a picture of George Jefferson...

FORGIVE THE HITLER REFERENCE...BUT IT IS DAMN FUNNY

Back Home

Flagpole Knob
Briery Branch, Virginia

Vacation is over, once again. I can't help but feel a little desperation at the close of a couple weeks off. I guess it will be nice to get back to reality, but that sinking feeling is starting to creep up once again. There were so many good times these past two weeks that I wish I could just take a 2 year sabbatical from work of any kind just to figure out what I want to do with life. Time seemed to move so slowly and nothing really mattered while I was off. Tomorrow's 12 hour shift starting at 7pm is sure to last the rest of my life. But at least it's a nice gradual slip back in to the regular swing of things. I'll be off Wednesday and Thursday. Both days promise to be trying, as I have to try to move, once again across town. I'll need to procure a truck of some sort and maybe an additional strong back to help with some of the heavy lifting.

Kentucky

What is there to say about this place? It has to be one of the best kept secrets in the lower 48. First off, in my opinion, it is a geographical oddity. It seems like it's about 6 hours from everywhere in the mid west. Right now I'm just north of Lexington about 3 minutes from Georgetown. It amazes me how a nice little town Georgetown is, and to think that in about 3 minutes of driving I can be smack dab in the middle of a hay field. I decided to come out here for my vacation, because 1, it's cheaper than driving to the beach, and 2, one can totally relax in a place like this, where things move so slowly. Never mind the 6 plus hours it takes me to drive from my home in the Shenandoah Valley to get here. It's full of breathtaking mountain views and lots of fun things to do and see like this....

That's me, by the way, in the summer of 2007 on a rock formation called Ram's Head about 1600 feet above the canyon floor, of the New River Gorge just outside of Fayetteville WV. I arrived about 11:00 last night and am proud to say, the only thing that I have done in a little over the 12 hours I've been here is sleep and eat. I'm not looking forward to leaving and going back to reality, but I'm a big believer in there being too much of a good thing. Hopefully, I'll be visiting another blogger, and having a little meal on Beverly's Back Porch.

On a completely unrelated note, I've made somewhat of a discovery in the way of internet music. Everyone should check out Slacker Radio. You can listen to one of my favorite stations that I've created. It's surely not to be to everyone's liking, but it might give you an idea of some of the stuff I'm really in to. Go here to listen.

Happy Wednesday!

Wow!

It's pretty hard to believe that it has been almost a whole year since I've done anything on this blog of any substance. There has been so much that has changed.

One thing that hasn't changed is the fact that I'm still working where I was a year ago, which is good....kind of. Recently I have had several thoughts to branch out and figure out what I want to do when I grow up. I know for a fact that if I sit behind this computer console for the rest of my life, I will end up being alone, and unhappy. There are so many things that I would like to experience, and if I stay here I'll never get to do any of them. One thing that I would really like to try would be a radio personality or a voiceover actor. Only problem with those things is I'm not sure how to really break in to either of them. I figure one of my favorite things to do is talk and if I could get a job doing either of those things, I would have it made. If anyone has any ideas about how to get in to something like either of those two professions, feel free to shoot me a message, or if you, yourself is looking for something in those fields, please let me know.
